It is said that "without data, you’re just another person with an opinion.” In response to both the community conversations that took place in the fall, Equal UA is compiling data to understand the current state of both our Schools and our City through the lens of belonging and inclusion. This will help us to better understand where seeking change can mean greater strength and belonging for everyone and how best we can support those in the Schools and City in their commitment to continuous improvement.

The dashboard data illustrates the impact that federal and private housing policies and practices in the 20th century had on Central Ohio and, more specifically, on Upper Arlington. The inequitable distribution of resources and wealth-building opportunities by community persist today. It is incumbent upon the City of UA and its residents to pursue actions that make UA accessible to those who live here and would like to live here and to ensure that all residents and potential residents are welcome and feel that they belong. Both City and its residents have made great strides and continue to show a commitment to accessibility and belonging. We look forward to continued progress!
